At Bankside we are proud to develop and empower all our stakeholders.
We do this by ensuring that we encourage all to share their voice and vision for change. We believe in amplifying the voices of all in our learning community .
Bankside is proud to LISTEN to our community through our Parents groups and Parents Council. When parents are involved in their child’s learning and in the life of the school, children do better. Parental involvement is a key lever for school improvement.
Our Parent Council offers a way of enabling parents to have a voice within Bankside Primary School. We give parents the opportunity to contribute to policy making on issues which affect them and also to play their part in improving children’s learning. We have a genuine partnership with parents This has reinforced the effect on school culture by strengthening the feelings of ownership and commitment of the local community.
Bankside Primary School Council and Early Years Foundation Stage councils are a formal method of taking our children’s’ views into account … This is not about putting children in charge. Rather, it is about listening to their concerns and using their experience as the main users of school services to empower, own their learning, and contribute their views on policies and practice.
